hurling and Gaelic football skills through interactive exhibits.
BATTLE OF THE BOYNE SITE
The Battle of the Boyne, one of the best known battles in the British Isles, was fought in 1690 between two rival claimants of the English, Scottish and Irish thrones. Activities include milking a cow, cutting sods of peat and working sheepdogs. This fun-based experience is the very best of Irish hospitality!
MALAHIDE CASTLE & COAST
Malahide Castle is one of Ireland’s oldest and most historic castles. The estate was founded in the 12th century by the Talbot family and was occupied by the family for over 800 years until 1976. The castle contains much of its original 16th century furnishings and a unique collection of Irish historical portraits.
Join in the living history of Dalkey Castle where life at the 15th century castle is presented through fun theater performances. Then enjoy the sea-side city of Bray. After visiting the sea, take a hike up Great Sugar Loaf Mountain to view the majestic scenery of County Wicklow.
The largest Norman-Anglo castle in Ireland, Trim Castle was originally built by Hugh de Lacy over a 30-year period that began in 1172. 800 years later, the ruins of the castle stand firm. Notably, in 1955 Trim Castle was used as the location for King John’s Castle in the film “Braveheart”.
