University and Sports Travel Management Experts Set Awards’ Record

DALLAS — Last night, Anthony Travel, Inc. joined elite company when it was named to the Dallas 100™ for the sixth consecutive year and the ninth time overall. Anthony Travel placed 67th on the list for 2010. This year’s recognition solidifies Anthony Travel as the only company to receive this honor for six or more consecutive years and ties Anthony Travel for most wins since 2003.

The Dallas 100™ Awards, co-founded in 1990 by the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at the SMU Cox School of Business, recognize the top 100 fastest growing, privately held companies in the North Texas area. To qualify for the Dallas 100™ Awards, a company must meet a number of criteria based on sales growth, character, credit report, legal status, and location.

“To win any title six straight times or nine times overall is an amazing accomplishment,” said John Anthony, founder and CEO of Anthony Travel. “When we remember John Wooden, a great American hero, it’s appropriate to note we still trail him by one in each of those categories, which seems appropriate and gives us something to aspire toward.”

The top 100 companies for 2010 were recognized at an awards ceremony at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Honorees enjoyed a keynote address from Carl Sewell, owner of Sewell Cadillac and co-author of “Customers for Life: How To Turn That One-Time Buyer into a Lifetime Customer”. Lisa Bormaster, Publisher of the Dallas Business Journal, and Kevin Knox, Assistant Dean of External Relations and Executive Director of the Cox Alumni Association, served as emcees for the event.

Anthony Travel continues to add impressive awards to its resume. In October, Anthony Travel was honored as North America’s Leading Travel Agency for 2010 by the World Travel Awards™ during the Americas Gala Ceremony in Jamaica. Candidates for this nomination were based on votes cast by travel industry professionals in more than 190 countries around the world. Anthony Travel previously donned this award in both 2007 and 2009.

By providing extraordinary service, excellent prices and creative travel solutions, the company has established a strong client base and excellent platform for growth.  Anthony Travel offers comprehensive travel solutions that save clients time and money, while providing unforgettable travel experiences.
